Training

Under the leadership of senior field technicians, every new hire undergoes a 90-day training period. We first start at our warehouse in Los Angeles, where trainees become accustomed to equipment types (we store training equipment in house), tools, and vehicles. They learn parts, proper tool use, and safe transport. This the point during training where we assess the trainee’s skillset, motivation level, and mechanical aptitude.

Next is software training. All jobs are tracked on Drop Pin Tech, our field service management software. Trainees learn how to navigate through the software, take required pictures, and understand why this online platform is important for our success.

The final and longest stage of training is conducted on the field. We use a repetition method to teach technique, work ethic and customer service. We visit different types of locations, with different equipment types and different scopes of work so that after 90 days, the trainee is able to go out to their own.

But we don’t stop there. Every field technician is equipped with physical training manuals and also customized online training modules, designed by senior staff.

Drop Pin’s senior staff has over 30 years of integrated experience, so we’ve seen a lot. We’ve used our backgrounds to carefully provide resources that not only get the job done but also mitigate any risk. This can be as simple as adding extra power cords or extra anchors to a tool kit, and it can be as complex as procuring building plans to understand flooring types.

Lead technicians have access to every schedule and review scopes of work before deployment. We hold Friday meetings to discuss the upcoming week, expectations, equipment types, and any unique instructions associated with a job.

Delivery

We deploy reliable field technicians who are fully aware of the bottom line, which is to deliver high-quality service on time. We don’t only work for our customer; we work for our customer’s customer, and we aim to please both. Because of preparation, we are able to do a little more at every job. If we notice that a bulb is out on customer equipment or if branding material looks crooked, we’ll fix those items before checking out. We deliver the vision of effective business operations.

Every technician is badged and in uniform, taking all safety precautions around their work area. We ensure the security of equipment with anchors and we bring equipment live, ready for use. If we are removing product, we securely transport it to its next destination. The entire start to finish process is documented on Drop Pin Tech in real time.

To ensure our high-quality service, we randomly perform accountability checks on the field. Every field technician is subject to this review so that we maintain the Drop Pin Difference.
